Perfect family vacation stay

Firstly, the location of this home couldn't be any better. The beautiful sandy beach and playground kept our kids happy and busy for hours. The house itself looks much smaller than it is. There was plenty of room for our two families which included 3 adults, 4 teens and an 11yr old. The house was complete with every bath and kitchen item we needed including starters of coffee, tea, milk etc. and lots of other little extras you don't normally see or expect. It was clean, and while not a new house it has been redone to perfection so that it is modern and inviting. The owners were quick to respond with any questions we had. The only caution is that parking is a bit tight for 2 larger sized cars. Overall, our stay at this house will remain one of our best memories of our trip to Australia, and if we ever get a chance to return, staying here again will be our very first choice.

excellent location, all the amenities needed for great tropical vacation

We stayed at the Clifton Beach house for one week following a convention in Brisbane we attended. The location of the house is excellent, in a quiet residential area, with the beach across across the local road, a small patch of rainforest in the back, and within 5 min. drive to the local shopping center. The house has high quality basics needed for a comfortable stay in tropics: it's airconditioned, has well equipped kitchen with a new fridge, a small pool, and broadband Internet. There were very few people on the beach for most of the week (on the weekend we could see more of local families) leaving us with the luxury of having the beach almost to ourselves. We did a 3 days trip to Cape Trib (excellent snorkeling close to the beach) and Port Douglas (great Sunday market), and it was a pleasure after days spent in a rustic cabin in the rainforest to come back to our air conditioned "home".

We had a great time during the Winter at this beach house. A stones throw from the beach literally. Has everything you need plus Internet and games for the teenager. Highlight each day was a very pleasant walk along the beach to Palm Cove to get some great coffee, breakfast and the paper, with a siesta during the afternoon. Thoroughly recommend as very suitable for a family stay.

Our in-laws flew in all the from the US, so we were very nervous about finding the right place to make our first visit to northern Queensland as enjoyable as possible. This great house in Clifton Beach ended up being perfect for us. The pool was great for the kids - kept them occupied when we weren't out exploring the area. We also loved the central location - good for excursions leaving from either Port Douglas (40 mins by car) or from Cairns (20 mins by car). The property was clean and comfortable, and the owner's went out of their way to make sure all of our questions got answered, including advice and suggestions for things to do in the area. The Great Barrier Reef was AMAZING. We also went to Green Island on our last day - I was reluctant to go because I'd heard it was a bit touristy - but it was quite nice on the beach, and we got to snorkel up close with 3 green sea turtles - which was the icing on the cake!

Top Notch Downunder

We travelled from Cairns to Brisbane and did not find better accomadations than this one. A wonderful beach steps away, a pool surrounded with tropical flowers and swaying palm trees in the front yard. A billabong (natural watering hole/stream) in the backyard filled with butterflies and kookaburra birds. This place has it all, sights/sounds/smells, of Australia. Proximity to crocodile farms and tropical rainforest skyrail, walking distance to a shopping mall that has everything you would need. A great evening walk on the beach to many wonderful beachfront restaurants in Palm Cove. As to the home itself, it truly feels like you are home when you are staying here. Everything you need to feel comfortable when you want to spend time indoors is here. We cooked gourmet meals indoors and outside and primarily enjoyed them on the wonderful verandah. If planning on visiting anywhere from Port Douglas to Cairns, don't stay anywhere else, on our return trip which we are already dreaming of, we wouldn't. We had the washer break while we were there and it was fixed the next day, no disruption to our holiday at all. The owner is very organized, effficient and friendly and your booking will be a breeze if you have a Paypal account. Feel free to contact me if you wan't verification this was written by a guest and not the owner himself.

Great central Cairns location

This is a great location central to both Cairns city, the northern beaches, and the areas north of Port Douglas. We are a family of 5 and the house was plenty spacious for us. The salt water pool was a delight to cool off in and the location right on the beach was superb. We were able to easily access the dive operators in Cairns as well as the restaurants there. We also made several day trips to Cape Tribulation as well as the Atherton tablelands all from the same location. Palm Cove was a nice 15 minute walk down the beach and the local shopping center around the corner kept us well supplied. An overall excellent choice to sample the region.
